The riveting adventure story takes place in Santa Rita, Durango, in 1888 when a New York bank, aimed to put a railroad across Mexico, buys up all banks around this small town. Farmers who live on the soon-to-be-built rail line and owe money to the banks are terrorized by a merciless, uncompunctious, gun-wielding enforcer, Tyler Jackson (Dwight Yoakam), who evict them from their lands and kill them for resistance activities.
