The Big Blue Movie
Enzo Molinari (Jean Reno) and Jacques Mayol (Jean-Marc Barr) grew up together on one of the islands in the Mediterranean Sea. Jacques' father who was a diver died because of faulty scuba gear while gathering oysters. Several years have passed since that incident. The childhood friends have become professional divers who compete to see who can descend to the furthest depths of the sea without the aid of oxygen. Johana Baker (Rosanna Arquette), an attractive young insurance investigator from New York, meets Jacques in Peru and immediately falls in love with him. She follows him to Taormina, Italy where she witnesses the incessant rivalry between the lifelong buddies. Enzo and Jacques partake in the world free-diving championship where they manage to reach a depth of 120 meters. What will this perilous diving duel end with?
