Trading Places
Louis Winthorpe III (Dan Aykroyd), a respectable, wealthy Philadelphia commodity broker, finds his life upended after his employers, Mortimer (Don Ameche) and Randolph Duke (Ralph Bellamy), make an unusual, one-dollar bet. Randolph believes that the company can be run by anyone, even a regular rascal. The Duke brothers find a perfect candidate for their cruel social experiment when they come across a street con named Billy Ray Valentine (Eddie Murphy). Billy unexpectedly finds himself placed in the lap of luxury and given a cushy job, while Lois is expelled from the company and stripped of his fashionable townhouse. But the eccentric brothers don't know that by switching the lifestyle of the criminal and the trusted employee they expose themselves to more risk than they have bargained for.
